Bio-circular material samples and robotic tools in the atr-xia studio

atr-xia

AI-native bio-circular product studio

Material intelligence,
made physical.

atr-xia turns cultural imagination into validated material products through applied polymer science, computational design, robotic prototyping, and manufacturing partners.

Our position

Nature is a mechanism library, not a mood board. We translate its organizing logic into engineered behavior, fabrication specifications, measured products, and reusable evidence.

Three connected worlds

Imagination becomes matter.
Matter becomes evidence.
Evidence opens possibility.

01 / Co-design

Can a cultural impulse become a responsible material object?

We explore how taste, ritual, and identity can become an exact brief for a responsible material object.

Enter co-design

02 / Materials

Can every experiment teach the next material what to become?

Applied scientists use research agents, polymer informatics, formulation history, and physical testing to search a larger material space.

Enter material intelligence

03 / Fabrication

Can responsible matter move at the speed of culture?

Robotic prototyping, additive manufacturing, finishing, and inspection test how a material idea can become physical.

We study how bio-based and recovered matter can become named, testable systems with a distinct sensory identity and a plausible manufacturing route.

What if a lip product holder carried its own material intelligence?

A refillable ritual object shaped with soft asymmetry, precise closures, and a PHA-rich or circular compound with biofillers and natural pigments. Designed with a creative point of view, iterated as a study, and documented with evidence.

Founded by Neil Chatterjee

An applied bridge between frontier intelligence and physical product.

Neil has moved mycelium-based materials toward product at Bolt Threads, developed ECONYL and BCF carpet yarn at Aquafil, and created multiple form factors for chitosan biopolymer at Viaex. atr-xia turns that applied practice into a product studio where AI proposes, experts and experiments decide, and every winning prototype becomes a manufacturing dossier.

Building the first product and material systems

What should the first
small experiment prove?

atr-xia is currently an independent creative and technical project, with the intention to commercialize when the right legal, team, and market conditions are in place. We are exploring focused collaborations across product, materials, computation, fabrication, evidence, and scale-up.
